I am Jessica L. Akins, a licensed Cosmetologist of Youngstown, Ohio. My journey in haircare led me to start my own hair care product line. Three years of research and development the brand Jessie Bea Naturals, LLC was born. All though my business was successful, I was searching for a way to become better. This is when I came across the Joye Outreach Foundation.
Coach K. Joye gave me tools to organize my business as well as my personal life that they both work in harmony. I've been introduced to life skills that expanded my mind to top tier clarity of being an entrepreneur. Coach K.Joye really took on the one and one consulting I wanted in a mentor. Stephanie-Joy Grigg, a native of Queens, New York, is passionate about encouraging and cultivating the character of the next generation of young ladies. Rev. Stephanie-Joy is a graduate of Hampton University, St. John’s University, Princeton Theological Seminary and she studied abroad at the Royal Holloway, University of London in England. She recently obtained her Doctor of Ministry from The Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology at Virginia Union University in Richmond, Virginia.
Stephanie-Joy has dedicated her life to empower, engage, and educate Black girls around the world. In a society that seeks to belittle their existence as Black Girls, her mentoring program, children’s book and graphic tees by @shopblackgirljoy are expressions in reclaiming our essence. Her children’s book is entitled “The True Beauty Is In You”, which was written to inspire Black Girls all over the world.
I am honored to have K. Joye as my “little sister”. She is literally my pride and JOYE ☺ Kaelynne is a compassionate, generous, empathetic, and a driven individual who often places the needs of others above herself. Her sensitivity to the issues of those around her, coupled with her ability to listen first and respond second, provide others with a sense of security and belongingness. While many people are able and willing to give advice, Kaelynne is eager to listen and guide others through their own decision making, making it clear that she is dedicated to helping others reclaim their agency and power. Her strong work ethic, compassionate personality, and selfless nature speak to Kaelynne’s strengths. I love her and I am so proud of her!
